Position Summary | The Department of Medical and Molecular Genetics at Indiana University School of Medicine is seeking applicants at the assistant research professor level. This is a scientist track non tenure position.The successful candidates must have a Ph.D. degree in molecular biology, cell biology, genetics, genomics, or other related research area and more than 2 years of postdoctoral fellowship training. The candidate must have expertise in cardiovascular disorders, specifically Marfan syndrome and related disorders. Bioinformatic capabilities such as analysis pipelines, omics analyses, the ability to program and use command line tools, and data visualization tools are preferred. Expertise in basic biological research including the use of mouse models of cardiovascular and endothelial disease is required. The candidate will have overall responsibility for designing, executing and/or supervising investigations related to the development of cardiovascular disease including valve disease. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English are essential. It is highly desirable for the holders of this position to develop research projects with strong potential for long-term NIH funding and to have demonstrated the ability to collaborate with others.The Department of Medical and Molecular Genetics offers a highly collegial and interdisciplinary environment that spans clinical medicine and basic research.
