Position SummaryDr. Rich Holden invites applications for a postdoctoral fellow position to join his interdisciplinary research team in the Center for Health by Design and the Department of Health & Wellness Design, both in the School of Public Health-Bloomington (SPH-B) at Indiana University.Dr. Holden’s research program pursues “better health, by design” by developing and testing health interventions for health promotion, disease prevention, and care delivery. We are a federally-funded, interdisciplinary team applying expertise from social and behavioral sciences, systems engineering, informatics, human-centered design, and the health professions.Key areas of research include medication safety; mobile health, sensors, and other technologies; aging and family caregiving; chronic disease care; lifestyle behavior interventions; human-centered and participatory design; clinical trials; and implementation research.The position will provide mentored research training and experience to those who aspire to a research-intensive academic career. Fellows will receive mentoring from Dr. Holden and a team of faculty from the Center for Health by Design. Fellows will be able to lead both existing and new research projects.Dr. Holden is a Professor, Assistant Dean for Faculty Success, and Director of the Center for Health by Design. He is a dedicated mentor with a track record of mentees winning NIH/AHRQ K awards and independent funding, earning tenure-track faculty positions, publishing, and receiving awards.Salary and Benefits:· Benefits and compensation congruent with NIH stipend levels· Conference travel and professional development support· Access to rich resources for research and training· Access to multidisciplinary collaborators and mentors
Basic QualificationsQualifications: A Ph.D. or other doctorate in a health-related field, health research experience, and a strong publication record are required. Preference will be given to candidates with grant writing experience and career aspirations in health intervention research.

Additional QualificationsResponsibilities:The fellow will receive training in mixed methods approaches, human-centered design of health interventions, stakeholder-engaged research, clinical trials, grant writing and management, and other critical skills as identified in their individual development plan. Essential duties include:· Prepare individual development plan and form a mentorship team based on goals and interests· Lead and contribute to health intervention research studies· Conduct qualitative and/or quantitative data analyses· Develop and prepare research proposals for funding· Publish and present research findings and methods
